Use this management checklist In your building to ensure pedestrian areas and indoor and outdoor walkways are kept free from trip and slip hazards and all workspaces are cleaned and cleared regularly.
1. Are aisles, stairwells and passageways used by building occupants properly illuminated?

4. Are cracks and openings greater than 2" in floor surfaces covered and marked?

5. Are mechanical rooms and shop floors cleaned-up at regular intervals or after work is complete?

6. Are pedestrian areas such as lobbies, elevators and sidewalks inspected frequently and kept free from trip hazards?

7. Are activities such as Carrying/lifting while walking discouraged or prohibited? (One may not see a hazard on the floor and if a person loses balance, he/she is more likely to fall.)

9. Are employees made aware that excessive fatigue and tiredness can affect the ability to carry out even as simple a task as walking?
