OSHA Employee Safety Awareness Inspection

1. Are employees instructed in proper security measures (lock doors, park in well-lit areas, etc.)?

2. Are employees trained on avoiding and dealing with road rage?

3. Are employees observed traveling outside of designated walkways, walking while distracted or walking without eyes on the path?

4. Do employees getting in and out of equipment use three points of contact and available steps and ladders vice jumping to the ground?

5. Is there an effective process for communicating changes to facilities or processes in the workplace that could effect worker safety?

6. Is there an effective process to recognize hazards and identify them for correction?

7. Are safety meetings, tailgate talks, accident investigation findings and other safety information held regularly?

8. Is there a process for employees to communicate safety concerns to supervisors and managers anonomously?

9. Are employees observed wearing required PPE at all times?

10. Is there a functional employee safety committee or Safety Team at the facility?

11. Do several randomly selected employees report having the right tools and training to do their job safely?

12. Are situational awareness techniques such as SLAM (Stop; Look; Assess; Manage) understood by workers and in use at the facility?
