Use this inspection to prevent ergonomic injuries by promoting safe lifting. Observe employees during the work day to inspect manual handling and lifting tasks.
1. Can this manual lift be avoided by using mechanical lift aid?

3. Is the walking surface and travel path clear of all obstructions?

4. Has the employee checked lift material for all tags and markings that may pertain to lifting instructions (weight, fragility, hazardous material..etc.)?

5. Has the employee taken size, shape, and weight into consideration when determining the safest lifting technique and if assistance is required?

6. Is mechanical or extra manual assistance used when lift is greater than 50 pounds or from the floor?
