Hearing Conservation Inspection

1. Is training provided to employees annually for those who may be exposed to noise levels of 85 dBA or greater?

2. Have noise levels been determined for all high-noise areas and equipment?

3. Have equipment such as compressors, forklifts, generators, pneumatic tools, etc., been verified for the needed use of hearing protection?

4. Is equipment and areas with noise levels at or above 85 dBA identified with labels or signs posted on the individual pieces of equipment at the entrance to the noisy areas?

5. Do signs or labels state either "Hearing Protection Is Required While the Equipment is Operating" or "Hearing PRotection Is Required While Working in the Area" or similar where appropriate?

1. Do employees have access to hearing protection?

2. Is only company-approved hearing protection used?

3. Is hearing protection worn at all times when noise levels are suspected of equaling or exceeding 90 dBA?
